I’ve always loved taking photos but it really took off as an obsession after starting my Postgrad Cert in Fine Art where it was suggested I took a risk and tried film and photography instead of painting. I had an amazing year and produced a lot of work.
After this I was offered the chance to take part in a year long photography project by the Photographers Gallery called ‘Street Photography Now’ 2010 – 11. The idea was that every Friday you were given a brief by a well known photographer and by the following Friday you would submit one photograph to the organisers for approval. I was lucky enough to be able to complete all 52 weeks and have them sucessful in submission.
It was a wonderful experience and I learnt a great deal. The photos can be viewed here;
After this some of the photographers who had taken part decided to carry on with the idea but this time the brief was given every two weeks as the previous year’s timeline was rather exhausting.
